EXTHAMAT® fire-rated boards
Fire-rated boards EI 60 (35mm) and EI 120 (55mm) for duct enclosures, structures and fire-rated partitions. Certified EN 13501-1. Air-dried — no gas.
EXTHAMAT P boards
The reference fire-rated board
EXTHAMAT boards are the flagship product of the EXTHA range. Manufactured from fibre-reinforced plaster at our Carcar factory (Spain), they form the base material for fire-rated staff duct construction, structural enclosures and ventilation conduits. EI 120 certified, class A1 non-combustible.

EXTHAMAT: the reference fire-rated board
The EXTHAMAT board is the flagship product of the EXTHA range. Manufactured at our factory, this fibre-reinforced plaster fire-rated board constitutes the base material for constructing fire-rated staff ducts, structural enclosures, and ventilation and smoke extraction conduits.
Developed and refined over four decades of experience, the EXTHAMAT board offers an optimal balance of fire resistance, mechanical strength, ease of installation and durability. It is certified EI 120 and classified A1 (non-combustible) in accordance with applicable European standards.

EXTHAMAT P 35mm range
The main EXTHAMAT P range comes in boards of 35mm thickness, the standard used for the majority of fire-rated applications. This thickness achieves EI 120 classification with a single layer for staff ducts and enclosures.

Certifications and fire test certificates
EXTHAMAT boards are tested and certified to the following European standards:
- EN 1366-1: fire resistance of ventilation ducts — EI 120 classification
- EN 1366-8: fire resistance of smoke extraction ducts — EI 120 S classification
- EN 13501-1: reaction to fire — A1 classification (non-combustible)
- EN 13501-3: fire resistance classification of construction products and building elements
All fire test certificates and detailed technical datasheets are available in our downloads section.
Eco-responsible manufacturing
Unlike most manufacturers who dry their boards using gas, EXTHA air-dries its EXTHAMAT boards. This natural process, without fossil fuel consumption, considerably reduces the carbon footprint of our products. A unique ecological advantage in the passive fire protection market.
Applications of EXTHAMAT boards
The versatility of EXTHAMAT boards allows them to be used in a wide variety of fire-rated applications:
- Staff ducts: construction of fire-rated conduits for ventilation, smoke extraction and pipe runs
- Enclosures: protection of cable trays, pipework and technical shafts
- Fire-rated partitions: construction of fire-resistant walls for compartmentalisation
- Cladding: protection of steel or concrete structures by enclosure
- Plenums: construction of fire-rated suspended ceilings
Installation guide
Installation of EXTHAMAT boards requires adherence to precise rules to guarantee conformity of the installation with fire test certificates:
- Cutting: boards are cut with a circular saw or jigsaw with a plaster-rated blade
- Assembly: boards are assembled by bonding with EXTHAFIX adhesive and screwing onto a metal frame or stapling together
- Jointing: joints between boards are treated with fire-rated compound to ensure continuity of protection
- Fixings: mechanical fixings (screws, staples) must respect the spacing defined in fire test certificates
- Access doors: integration of fire-rated access doors is carried out according to assembly drawings provided by EXTHA
